OUR INSPIRATION
The SLAP-ON Tourniquet
The combination of Nathan's military experience and the upward trend of mass shootings in the United States inspired Nathan to begin conceptualizing the SLAP-ON Tourniquet. This new and improved tourniquet eliminates the pitfalls associated with the standard windlass adjusted tourniquets.

One of the first components that Nathan decided to improve upon was the application process. A toy, the slap band bracelet, provided the necessary inspiration. Using this toy's mechanism, you can effectively cut down time to application and increase the ease of use, especially in a combat situation where one arm may be compromised.

Our Inspiration: About
The next component that Nathan decided to improve upon was eliminated the guesswork associated with the pressure needed to be applied once the tourniquet was deployed to the wound. The self-inflating life jackets used on airplanes provided this piece of inspiration. Utilizing the idea behind the self-inflatable lifejacket, we designed an automatic system for distributing pressure evenly throughout the tourniquet without any human tinkering.
